Melody Reynolds, I don't know if you are still out there, but I may have a little information for you on James Gahagan.I was cleaning files and came across your message that I had printed out. Only a few weeks ago I came across that name on a film from Salt Lake City that I had ordered.
#0929094 - Admissions to citizenship - It listed James Geoghagen - planter - coming from Ireland through N.Y. April 1854 - He became a citizen 10/17/1878 at the age of 47yrs. I also found THREE of my G-G-Grandfathers on the same list. I thought I died and went to heaven!!! You may already have the information, but it's nice to have the papers. If you would like a copy of his papers call:
The National Archives in Atlanta - 404-763-7477 and talk to Mary Evelyn Tomlin , tell her Its Group 21- She is a wonder. It will cost $10.00 for each reference. I'm a descendent of Josha Geoghagan through his daughter Mary who married Donald McDonald. Good hunting.....
