There could be a family relationship because of the geography as well as the similiar names see asterick.

The marriage document of Erdman Zarnott stated he was the youngest son of Erdman Zarnoth of Gardin near Neuenhagen, Pommern,Germany. It also stated that the occupation of son Erdmann was arbeitmann, or workman. This document was found in the archives in Stettin, Poland in 2000. Gardin Germany now called Gardzin in Poland was in Kreis Regenwalde and was a small village just a few kms. northeast of the town of Regenwalde. It was on a main road south of

was a rural area and our ancestors were primarily farmers and country people. That is why you see so many were itinerent day laborers, farm hands, etc. they came to America for the opportunity to better themselves, something very hard to do in Pomerania. In Pomernia you were born into a social level where you usually stayed your entire life. It is said that if you didn't own land in Pomerania you didn't have any status. Acquiring land which gave you stability was very hard. In America they were given the chance to succeed, which most did. If a person didn't have a profession and didn't own land then he was pretty much able to come and go as he pleased as economics or job opportunities dictated. As a consequence you will find many of our ancestors moved about very often and you will find children in the family born in different places.
