I am one of the Genzes from the Jefferson County, Wisconsin. I have been able to trace my Genz ancestors back to about 1800. At that time they lived around Wefelow, in Kreis Greifenberg, in Province Pomerania, Prussia. The family has always been Lutheran. Since your family is Catholic and from a different part of Germany, it probably will be difficult to find a connection with your family.
