There is no proof but there is corroboration in the 1850 Walker County, GA census where Martin Gentry and James Howell are listed in successive entries. We can learn from this:
1. Patience was a daughter of Martin. This is backed up by the fact that Martin had a daughter born 1815-1820 in his family in the 1820 (Walton, GA) and the 1830 census (Carroll, GA). In addition, Patience was a family name inasmuch as Martin had a sister named Patience.
2. James had a large family but the ages of the two youngest children, namely 4 and 1, leave an appropriate gap for James to have had a second marriage, with the youngest child being a child of James and Patience.
