I suppose Bessie Lee could have been the daughter of a several of Levi Jr's sons - Miles', Virgil's, I don't have anything on Atlas Pinkney Gentry, except that he married a Jenkie ?. I think maybe their younger brothers were a bit too young to be the father. I haven't studied much about Bessie Lee or Nannie Gentry before. My thinking cap is not fitting right today.
A few things I was going to ask you was if you have anything on Levi Sr's sons John M. Gentry or James A.Gentry? I think I have them because others did. All I have extra is that John was married to a Nancy J. Gentry, I didn't know if that was her maiden name or not, I think I just got that from the others also.
Did you ever happen to know what the "W" was for in Elijah's middle initial? I think the only other Gentry name I have seen that starts with "W" is William.
Samuel E.McCarty (son of Albert and Martha) and his wife named their first son Albert Weatherington McCarty. It seemed to me like Samuel was close to Elijah, so I wonder about that sometimes. I have seen the names Weatherington and Worthington both on some of the Gentry South Carolina deeds from Edgefield, before. Albert's mother was a Jones, so it wasn't her name, and his grandmother that married Dennis McCarty, was a Galbreath. I wonder where they come up with those surnames for given names sometimes when their parents or grandparents were not named that. I have seen this several times, I suppose maybe they could have been named after friends of the family maybe, do you think?
