Thank you so much, I have never seen Levi Sr's middle name anywhere before. I guess now we can leave out the "F" as far as distinguishing the two, and I hope you don't mind if I shorten it to Levi Sr and Levi Jr from now on, when we are just discussing them. This will help me shorten my notes a little, and I am not that swift at typing, either. There is so much to learn from one another. I still have some questions for you, but it takes all I can just to do one thing at a time, and I have more than one thing going right now. There is so much I have yet to do. which leads me to this:

According to the Union County Cemetery book at the library, "Levi F. Gentry" (Jr) was born "1 mile east of Alpine Crossroads, on Alpine-to-Jericho Road." There are 3 other Gentry names listed: Besssie Lee, Cassie A., and Nannie (it is interesting that I see the surname Gordon several times mentioned in this small cemetery, may be a source for some of Levi's jr's grandsons) will give you the dates later if you need them, since I am needing to leave here right now for a while.
One thing I need to do is go to the cemetery and verify the dates, as I have found quite a few mistakes made in cemetery books before. I don't know if that is where Ancestry gets there info or not, but I would like to make clear that the names and dates have sometimes been transcribed wrong.

The name of that cemetery is Damascus Cemetery, a cemetery last used in the 1960's looks like.

I have verified all of the dates in the Glenfield cemetery, Tupelo, Lee co, MS, where some of Levi Jr's children and grandchildren are buried, including the Sadie Gentry Wylie and family that Elijah Gentry was staying with in 1929. That is one thing also I need to do, is try to find where Elijah was buried, somehow, as I haven't found him listed in the books. Some are buried in another cemetery in Union county that is about 10 miles in another direction from here. I will be back as soon as I can to tell more.
(I have verified the Gentrys at the Sherman cemetery, Deborah and Dorcas and some of her children. there was a few mistakes according to the books)ok I spent longer than I meant to, got to run...
