Hi Judith,

It so happens that my grandmother was born in Troy, NY. That is where her parents first settled when they came from Ireland. Her parents were John Gentleman and Mary Walsh. Story has it that they met coming over on the boat. They moved into OH. We thought John's father's name was William (at least according to the death certificate of John) but according to IGI they have his father listed as George. Have been unable to verify anything for sure.
