I'm hoping this list is still active, and that someone may be able to help me.
I'm searching for information on a group of GENTLEMAN ancestors who immigrated to Nebraska from Paris, Canada (originally from Ireland)in the mid-1800s.
WILLIAM GENTLEMAN, b. around 1810, eventually settled in Omaha. Married Johanna Sullivan, b.1821.
ROBERT GENTLEMAN, b. around 1820. Homesteaded near Platte Cty, NE. Wife's name unknown. She died in Canada before the family moved to Nebraska.
I believe these two may have been brothers.
NICHOLAS GENTLEMAN, b. around 1829. Married Mary (Garry?), b. 1840.
I'm looking for birth and/or marriage records for these ancestors. It seems like many Irish immigrated to Canada, but I didn't realize that some of them then settled in the midwest.
I'd appreciate any guidance from those who have done such research before.
