In a desperate attempt to figure out more about my Scottish ancestor John GENTLE (1752?-1823) I am recording all I know about GENTLEs in Scotland. I also find the surname very interesting. The database is available at Gencircles:

The GENTLE(S) name has many variations, but to make searching easier, I have recorded all names as GENTLE. If no source is given, the information is usually from www.familysearch.org.
While I have tried to be careful, my only guarantee about this database is that it must have errors. I welcome your corrections and additions. I would also enjoy hearing if the database helps you.
