Hi Arthur,
When searching www.familysearch.org/ I found an Arthur Gentle christened 28 June 1868 in Abbey, St. Albans - is this any help?
As I live in Barnet, Herts (about 10 miles from St Albans)would you like me to look at any locally held records for you?
