I noticed your posting re GENTLE Family Database and wondered if you might have any information about :
Wiliam GENTLE b ca 1823 ( High Toynton or W.Ashby Lincolnshire).He married my gt gt aunt Mary Ann AKEROYD in Gt Grimsby Lincs in 1871.
There is a possible Coningsby Lincs 1881 census entry for a William Gentle Wid age 58 bn West Ashby , with a child Jane age 8 bn Hull.
If this is the right entry, Mary Ann must have died 1872 - 1881
Free BMD Registration shows an entry that could be for the child -Births Sep qtr 1872 GENTLE Jane Caistor 7a 607
I have also found a possible death in GRO Indexes - 1878 Mary Ann Gentle (age 30) Hull 9d 170
If the death entry above is the right person Mary Ann was born ca 1848 which does fit in with the time frame of her christening.
