On 1851 census Hamilton, Ontario, John aged 48 (b. 1803), wife Elizabeth Faulkener aged 30, William aged 16, Augusta aged 14, John Roy aged 3, and Joseph aged 1. Could be that Eliza is his second wife since there is an age gap between Augusta and John Roy. His father John may have married 2nd time in 1822 to Marie Louisa Roy in Windsor. John Gentle listed in the 1802 tax list for Detroit and living there after fire of 1805. Thomas s/o John & Mary Louiza Gentle, aged 6 years was bapt. 1822. Parents John & Mary Gentle, Sponsers, John Watson, John Gentle, Ann Coates. Other families in Hamilton - Dwyer, Mahoney, Johnston, Land, Craig, Cox. Any information or connections anyone?
