I was pleasantly surprised to find the Gentle family site!! I am very intersted to find out more about my family tree. I have been in contact with a Scott Gentle (who was a disc jockey for a local radiostation in the US. This was about 8 years ago.Since then I have been trying to get in touch with him, but had no luck. I was searching for a Scott Gentle yesterday through the Yahoo search engine, but it only came up with a Scott Christopher Gentle jr. I was shocked to find that it was linked with the Aids Memorial Site. This morning I couldn't get it out of my head and I tried to find out more about the Gentle family. I know Scott had been in contact with a couple of Gentle families in Scotland, Canada and the US. Scott wanted to have a Gentle gathering somewhere. But as I said I havn't been in contact with him for 8 years. I hope someone has more information on Scott? He started to get me interested in genealogy.
Here is the information I have on my family. But first something about me: I was born in Birmingham on the 28th of april 1970, England and have one sister named Michelle (11-02-1969). My father (John Sydney) is English and was born in Birmingham (16-12-1939). My mother (Jannetje van den Berg) is dutch and was born in Rotterdam (11-08-1943). I don't know a lot about my grandfather (Sydney Gentle) except that he married Emily Lewis (22-04-1913) and had 5 children: Cyril, Gloria, Christine, Margaret and John Sydney (mentiones above. I have never met him, but I heard through my aunt Gloria that is still alive and living in London somewhere. This is all I know at the moment, but I will get in touch with my grandmother, dad, uncle and aunts to get more information about our background. Furthermore I will link them up with this site. I just can't wait to learn more about my family. Thanks very much for setting up this site and forgive my english grammar for I have lived in Holland allmost whole my live and I don't get to write much english.
