William Gentle married Ann Boltin in Cambridgeshire, England. In 1851 William and a mate were accused of breaking and entering and steeling monies from a widows home in Cambridge. William and his friend were convicted and sent to the convict hulks in Bermuda for 9 1/2 years. They survived the West Indies plague outbreak. William was sent back to England in 1861 and was further transported to Australia in 1863. He gained his ticket of leave in 1864 and was joined by his wife and two children, Rebecca and William and Rebecca's husband John Endersby when the family arrived in Western Australia. Nothing further is known of the family in England. Would love to contact anyone who may have further information. Regards to all Judy
