Starting Sept. 5, 2014, Genealogy.com will be making a big change. GenForum message boards, Family Tree Maker homepages, and the most popular articles will be preserved in a read-only format, while several other features will no longer be available, including member subscriptions and the Shop.

Russ, I did a preliminary search in Ancestry.com (I am not a member, so may not have received the entire census) and found that the 1850 census asks for the county that I want to search. My point in searching the state is that I DO NOT KNOW what county my people were in, so that particular census does not help at all.

I can't say that I LOVED the old 1850 census search on Genealogy Library but I at least liked it --

I wonder if the techs at Gen Library or even Ancestry.com are acually familiar with how a person does genealogical research -- if so, they would be aware of the frustations that they have caused.

Am I the only one who is having a problem with Genealogy.com? There do not seem to be many complaints on the Gen Forum....or, have folks just given up even complaining?
