Thank you for trying to help. I sure hope you're getting something in return from genealogy.com in return for all the grief you get. But I'm afraid I'm going to continue complaining.
There are 1820, 1850 and 1860 census indexes there. Where are the rest of the years 1800, 1810, etc. and even 1870 for some states like MN? I'm sure they'll add them as NEW at a later time. Not new and improved, but new and ruined!
They are calling this NEW! A NEW book collection. The only thing new about it is that they've changed their presentation. They've once again ruined something that worked. The vertical format out and out stinks. You can't get accurate results from any search engine. Years are missing.
The search form for the 1850 indexes with images doesn't work now either.
Rather than destroy things, it would be nice if they would fix their search engines so that they work. I haven't found a search engine yet that actually works any more. I really disklike getting all the garbage in the results too. Current white pages as a historical record??? Maybe in 50 years but I don't want that showing up, nor the most of the other junk they've added.
I would like to see the search engines fixed and some way to use parameters to filter out the results. Hopefully they'll return the NEW census indexes back into the OLD indexes, etc.
