If you go here:

http://familytreemaker.genealogy.com/glc/links/c/c-records,census-records.html

You will see that they've removed all those indexes.

Most states only have one left and it's the 1600/1700 variety. Most all years thru 1860 USED to be there.

I would like an explanation of why these indexes are gone.

I just don't understand what this company is doing. They need new management. One that is customer oriented and leans towards ease of use. Those that are running things now have erroded, over the last couple of years, everything that was good about this place. They've removed search engines that worked and replaced them with ones that don't work and haven't worked correctly since they were put in use. They've removed totally some searches, such as the one for the family home pages. Now they are taking away data that I paid to use. It's a cluttered mess here now, and next to impossible to find anything that might be useful in an easy manner.
