Thanks for the reply, Russ. But I'm still not sure that I see the point of getting the basic membership instead of simply buying the software and subbing to Genealogy Library. That would cost only $10 more and would mean that I wouldn't have to fool with canceling the "basic membership" subscription next year and then resubbing to Genealogy Library. (I understand what the automatic renewal means, but, unless I'm mistaken, the default is that it renews -- that you have to take action to keep it from renewing.) So if I did the basic membership, a year later I would have to cancel that and then resub to Genealogy Library. I'm thinking it's worth an extra $10 simply to buy the new version of the software and sub to Genealogy Library. (Actually, I may just forget the software. I have nothing at all against my old version. I'm leaning heavily now toward simply subbing to Genealogy Library for $49.99 and sticking with my version 7.0.)
