I was a Generations User, but having the Sierra version, only.

After doing research, the program I use is The Master Genealogist. This program is versatile and has a bit of a learning curve.

The tagging system is very powerful. This program is highly customizable, and for those who do not consider themselves "computer literate" it is still very powerful. As you become accustomed to using the program, its available features far surpass anything I have seen. I especially like the research diary, where you can leave notes on individuals and print out a research itinerary.

It also uses the GenBridge technology, which far surpasses GedCom interchange. It read my Generations file directly, and I had quite a bit of work getting my sources up to snuff. But no data was lost and the sources are there, they just needed tweaking.

Also, with the GenBridge technology, it easily allows me to carry my database in my Palm Pilot to take anywhere.

I am very happy with this migration, since I see Generations as a product that will surely meet its demise.
Tim
