All of your data related to a particular family file is stored in a single file with the .uds file extension. If your computer is set to not display file extensions of 'known file types' this will be listed as a 'Tree6' file (for Easytree 6). If you have already installed Generations Family Tree Plus then the file association for the .uds files will be to Easytree 8 and the .uds files will be shown as Tree8 files :-)

The programmers have been smart and they have kept the structure of the .uds file the same, so it is compatible between Generations v6 and Generations Family Tree Plus (=v8.5a).
