Is There Help for This?

This problem has popped up in recent days, not constant at first, but lately becoming more so. My large tree on Generations 8.5.1.0 has begun to refuse to respond when the "+" buttons are clicked to add someone. It doesn't matter whether it is a son or daughter to add, or a parent. If the button responds, one is apt to get an unstable addition which either comes up blank with no info or ID number, or, equally bad, comes up with the pointy ends, which also becomes worthless.

Sometimes if a son (for example) does come up, it may be stabilized by shifting it to wastebasket, then back to active chart below parents. Trying to add members with the "children" button up top is equally faulty.

Reinstalling Generations from my CD (from GB) did not correct the problem.

This all is deteriorating. I need a solution before "bad goes to worse in a wastebasket." Excuse poor pun. Please help?
