Disappearing Data

I have recently transferred to a new PC with Windows XP.
I am using GGS 8.51 UK. When entering an existing Person Sheet and changing nothing and then hitting Enter the Name fields are blanked. Similarly if I position the cursor in a date field - that then goes blank. I can bypass the Name problem by clicking the Flags tag first followed by Save. I have tried the tips on Mike Hobarts web site progressively disabling possible conflicts with MSConfig. My XP version is SP1 with all Critical Updates. The following partially formatted is the Startup list from System Information. Has anybody any ideas?
