Generations 4.2 only supports Gedcom 4 which may be the source of the problem. If you backup your file (it creates a file with the .rb1 extension) then send that to me, I can upgrade it to the most recent version of Generations. Generations 5.2 and above supports Gedcom 5.5 and I will send you the gedcom in that format.
