Mr. Hobart,

Thank you so much for helping out with this problem. I have tried and retried everything that you and everyone suggested.
My husband and I have been around and around with the software. (And the software company)
We looked for each and every one of the listed software that could interfere with the Generations. We had a new scanner that provided OmniPage Pro 9.0. We removed it and everything with it. Still no help.

I am not running any of the version that anyone lists at any of the groups or info areas. My version is called "Family Tree Plus" 8.5A. I dont know if that makes a difference.
BTW: My computer has Windows XP Home Edition.

I have gone to every site I could find and downloaded the same patch that you suggested. In all cases the patch is downloaded and opened okay. It states that it can not find my Generations software. So I have not even been able to get the patch to do anything.

I am so frustrated. I have had this software for a year and I have NEVER been able to do anything with it.
The name field is not the only field that looses info. Any info you try to input erases all other data that is showing in the "edit people" screen.
If you are editing facts, you loose all other facts (than the one you just entered). If you enter a birth date and then a birth location, you loose the date (or even the other way around). It is the same for all fields.
Are there any other suggestions out there???????
Tam
