Cannot scroll index

I have a new problem - when I open the program it says it is version 9.0

Now the problem is this - it is a little difficult to put into writing but here goes:

The started yesterday - It was fine in the morning and in the afternoon I had the problem

When I click on the index it comes on and everything looks fine - but when I try to move the scrol up or down button everything in the index disappears - I have a blank index.

If I use the small arrows to go up and down it comes back from the point where it is at that moment (in other words - if I move the scroll down to the middle of the index screen it is blank - then if I go to one of the little arrows on the top or the bottom the name and others, will appear from the name that would be there if the screen were not blank -
lets say
Smith - and down, ot if I use the top arrow it will have names above that name.

If I want to go from ABEL to Zuehlke - it will take quite some time to do so using the small arrow. I find that if I place the cursor on the name that is there and move it up to the top of the index screen that the names above (or below) will move in rapid sccussion but still now all that fast - I will get where I want to go eventually if my finger holds out)

I cannot navigate this way - do you know anything I can do to get the scrolling back to my index?
Did I do something yesterday to cause this or what?

David (dawei39)

I have had Generations since 2000 and love it but this is making it close to useless - I have 32,770 individuals and it now take a looooooooong time to go from one to the other
