Thank you, Trevor,
We have Generations 4.2, and we have Windows XP. We had Windows 98 when I got the Generations 4.2 Program. Then my son in law, transferred it to this new computer. But, even though I can add information to the program, and up until recently was able to print out pages, I can't make a backup, or save the files to a CD. I am puzzled as to why I can't print out any of the information, since I did just a few months ago. When I found I couldn't make a hard copy of my program, I decided I would print it all out. We followed all the directions on the Generations book, and it said it made the backup, but then when we went to save it, and make a CD, it didn't recognize the file. That is when we got the message about needing an RB1. My sister showed me how to save it to word pad. But, I have to do that one family card at a time. Very time consuming. I only have 580 people in my family files, but it is still a lot of information, I don't want to lose, or have to do over. I feel like it is trapped!

I basically only know how to click and print. I am not good at all this computer jargon. I am willing to learn though. My sister works on computers all the time, and she thinks I am so backward. LOL! I guess I am. Unfortunately I am the one who has the family research.
If I have to buy, an upgrade to correct this, it is worth it. I would appreciate any help you can give me.
Thank you,
Carol Webb
