Starting Sept. 30, 2014, Genealogy.com will be making a big change. GenForum message boards, Family Tree Maker homepages, and the most popular articles will be preserved in a read-only format, while several other features will no longer be available, including member subscriptions and the Shop.

Carol,

Mike Hobart answered a similar question in message 903 on this forum as follows.

"All of the releases from v5.2 onwards can upgrade the v4.2 data files without having to go through the lossy gedcom route. The v4.2 release was limited to 32000 people and 999 sources. These are blown away in the later releases."

We have v8.5a in stock if you wish to upgrade.
