Hi Bobby,

Due to the patience and kindness of both Trevor and Russ, I have been able to open my CD. Let me see if I can walk you through it too.

First, you must have the genealogy program installed on both of your computers.

Then, put the CD-R disc with you file copied on it into the drive. You should see an icon. Instead of clicking on the icon twice and getting the "Cannot Open" message, just click on it once so that it is highlighted. In my case, the icon area turns blue.

Now look at the column on the left of the page. Find "Copy This File." Click on it.

A window should appear asking where you want to copy the file. Select "Desktop," Bobby.

Then click on the COPY button below the choices.

Look at you desktop and find the file you just copied there.

Click on it and it should open.

Don't give up, Bobby. I have been trying to learn to copy my program for months, wasting disc after disc. With the help of Trevor and Russ, I finally did it. I wish you the same good luck.

Cathy
