I was hoping you would try to answer my question because you are so knowledgeable. Thank you so much. I do not know was a "Serious" error is. Is that a taxicab yellow triangle with an exclamation point? If so, then I have a serious error. The word "Serious" does not appear on screen.
I am using Windows XP home edition, but I do not know what Windows Explorer is. Would I find it under "Programs?"
Please excuse my ignorance with respect to this. I have been able to save and open other word document files, but this large genealogy file just won't open. I have saved this file in "My Documents," first and it opens there. I need to backup my genealogy work onto disc in case of a computer crash, so having it in "My Documents" alone just doesn't help. It is so frustrating to see that the file has been copied to the disc, but that it just cannot be opened.
Thank you again for your help. I will see if I can find Windows Explorer while I wait for a response. Any suggestions as to where it is located would be greatly appreciated.
