If the book being wrong bothers you, wait until you run across records that are wrong. My birth certificate says I'm a boy. As a teenager obtaining a copy of that record I was rather surprised! It has been corrected, the certificate, not me!

I have an ancestor who died and probate was requested in two different counties in TX. He had property in both and I suspicion the adult children from his first marriage instigated the one in Denton Co. His widow (2nd wife) applied in Wilbarger Co, TX. The one in Denton Co never went any further. Estates are usually probated in county of residence of the deceased, but have been done in another county where there is property, or filed in two counties to show all the estate. In other words, we even have to be careful with information from records -- did someone say this would be easy? (^_^)

There are researchers who have my 2nd gr grdmthr married to her son, it has been passed along and shared until it showed up in a book, and now is on the IGI, too. True, marriage records for county of her marriage are lost, but I have seen the family Bible for her marriage, and the county marriage record for her son -- beyond what the family already knew. LOL

An obit for another gr gr grdmthr lists all her "daughters", but two of them are actually her daughters-in law. Here is the kicker, her 2 living sons were never even mentioned. Informant had to know about them, as they gave correct city/state of residence of the two d-in-l, one of which was my grandmother -- grandpa was never even mentioned in his own mother's obit.

Keep up the good work. We just keep untangling the knots, and refining our searches. (^_^)
