The 1910 New York census is one of those without a Soundex, or Miracode. The suggestion already made about city directories is good. The Family History Library in Salt Lake City has added a large collection of old city directories, and they have been microfilmed. Which means you can get them out on loan to your local Family History Center.

If you don't know where a FHC is located near you, go to the http://www.familysearch.org site, and you will find a list. Click on the tab that says "Library", then you will see several items listed across the page, 2nd item is Family History Centers.
