JOYCE A. GELINAS, 57, of Tucker Street, a retired restaurateur, died Wednesday at home after a four-month illness.
She was the wife of Kenneth R. Gelinas Sr., to whom she had been married for 39 years. Born in Woonsocket, a daughter of Alice (Kiley) Martel of Cumberland, and the late Paul Bouchard, she was raised in Attleboro, where she had resided until she was 17. She then moved to Pawtucket, where she had lived until she moved to Harmony 19 years ago.
Mrs. Gelinas, with her husband, had owned and operated the former Ken & Joyce's Restaurant, on Broadway, Pawtucket, for three years. She then moved to Harmony, where she operated the Harmony Restaurant until she retired, in January.
Besides her husband and mother, she leaves a son, Kenneth R. Gelinas Jr. of Glocester; a sister, Paula M. Matthews of Harmony; and two nieces.
The funeral will be held tomorrow at 9 a.m. from Charles Coelho Funeral Home, 151 Cross St., Central Falls, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 in Our Lady of Consolation Church, Sabin Street, Pawtucket. Burial will be in Acote Hill Cemetery, Chepachet.
