The current grave site marker is not the original marker. It is a memorial marker I believe was placed at the family burial site around 1900. There are no other markers left at this site. The inscription reads as follows: JACOB GEIL, BORN IN GERMANY 1746, DIED 1794. I have pictures from 2000 but I don't know how to post them on this site.
My Jacob Geil/Anna Clemmer ancestors (Jacob II, John Geil) left Rockingham County around 1801 for Fairfield County (Rush Creek, Hocking), Ohio, then left Ohio in 1846 to Wisc.(Green Co.) to Iowa (Clayton Co.) by 1850 and then to Minn. (Pine Is., Mazeppa) by 1870 and to Bemidji, MN in the 1890's

John Geil C.
