Thanks, John. My great grandfather, George Geil was born in Des Moines Iowa. I sent an email to Gail Wenger but it was an out of date address, from 2001. I didn't get to the LDS yet. It's been too hot here to go out if not absolutely necessary. It's also very smoky from all the fires in AZ. Since I haven't found George I was looking further back; for a grandfather or father. I think Jacob and Christian are his ancestors but there is a generation missing. My grandmother said he had a Dutch background as well as an Alsace-Lorraine and French. Will appreciate anything you can help with.
