I'm also one of the Minnesota Gehlens. Joseph Gehlen was my great-grandfather. My grandpa was Richard Gehlen, brother of Al and Joe, et al. Richard (Rich) was married to "Pip" Gehlen (she passed away before I was born and I can't recall her actual name everyone just called her Pip) and had 8 children in Glencoe. My Dad, Robert, was one of them. Unfortunately, I don't have any historical info past Joseph. I do have a great picture which shows 4 generations of Gehlen boys: me, my Dad, my Grandpa and my great grandfather Joseph. Probably doesn't help you much but it's interesting to see the distant connections to other people.
