I have learned a lot about this family. John A. Geesey was born about 1797 in Lancaster County, PA. He moved to Allamakee Co., IA where he died in 1874. I suspect that John is connected to my Swiss Gysi ancestry, but I don't know for certain. I have begun a Gysi genetic genalogy project with Family Tree DNA (www.familytreedna.com). I would like to enlist one or more male Geesey descendants of John's to participate in this DNA project. Through the genetic analysis we would investigate whether your Geesey lineage is closely related with mine.
