George William Geesey, who fought in the Civil War, was born in Genesee county, New York and was raised there. He married Julia Ann Billinghurst who was the same age as he was in Rochester, New York. I have heard that they were 1st cousins and my research tends to support this. I will give you more information on this. His parents were John A. Geesey who was born either in Lancaster or Lancaster County, Pennsylvania in 1897. He enlisted in the Army in the War of 1812 and served 5 years. After this he went to New York where he met and married Caroline Richardson who was born 15 July 1813. I even have your name in my files. My mother was Ardella Geesey and her father was Edward Ellsworth Geesey and his father was George William Geesey who is your greatgreatgrandfather. You could also contact me at Richard V.
