Hi Julia,
I have done a fair amount of research on the Geers in Fayette Co, KY.There are 3 Geers who were in Fayette County early: James, William and Joseph.I descend from James, born about 1784 in Virginia and came to Fayette Co. by 1810 or so. William Geers, born about 1775, was an innkeeper on Mulberry St. in Lexington in 1818. Joseph Geers ishead of a household in Jefferson Co. KY in 1810, and in Fayette Co. in 1830. (these 2 facts are from census data and I'm not sure it is the same Joseph). In 1864, a Joseph Geers is a carpenter in Lexington working at "Broadway, near High." Also in 1864, a William Geers, born about 1810, is also a carpenter, working at "High, between Mill and Broadway."James (mine) has numerous descendants who stayed in Lexington. However, I have come across very little on the Joseph Geers families. I have not come across the 2 children that you mention.I think they must not have stayed very long in Fayette Co.There were some Geers in Scott Co KY, and I have not researched any other counties very much.I would happy to share anything that I have, and to learn more about what you have. Please email me if you like.
