Hello Ron,I have been searching my family in the same area for some time now-The family came into the Owego, Tioga Co. area in 1831, not too far from Wellsburg in Chemung Co. My family line all carried the Geer spelling. We descend from Rezin Geer, war hero in the Battle of Wyoming, Pa in the Revolution. He had 3 sons that lived, Jeremiah (Penna), Peter, NY and Stephan NY. Stephan's line changed the spelling to Gere. The www.geerfamily.org should be able to help, if his line is known. We are all still trying to piece the lines from Rezin together. After the men were all massacred, as many women as could get away, fled through the woods with their children for safety. Rezin's Mary made it back to the Dutch community along the Hudson River with 7 children and only what they had with them. The Indians had burned everything after and no paper came down except maybe the Bible. This is the stuff Thomas came from to win that Medal of Honor and it should be in the right hands. Jeanne
