My ancestor, Jacob Gear was in Rhea, TN in 1808. His daughter Mary married William Seymore's son Isaac. There was a Jacob Gear and a William Seymore came into port in Charleston, SC shortly before that on the "Patience".I have not been able to trace William or Jacob any further back. Some posiblities but no proof.William's wife, Sarah Lewis's line is from WAles. I have that.Does this connect to any of yours? I hace found a Jacob Guyger and a Jacob Guir in the same area on different censuses, etc. Wondered if that might be them and they changed the spelling.Jane
