I don't know if this helps, but following the information provided in your message, I checked Middlesex County looking for some Geer's that would match my family (Pricilla and Caroline). No luck for me, but I did find Philina in the 1850 Middlesex Census as follows:
1850 US Census (CT, Middlesex, Middletown, p. 346)
Subnait Geer, 66, F, b. CT (head of house)
Anna Skinner, 41, F, b. CT
Hannah, 13, F, b. CT
Edmon Geer, 24, M, b. CT Boiler Maker
Sabra, 41, F, b. CT
Maria M., 14, F, b. CT
Anna S., 15, F, b. CT
Hezekiah H., 9, M, b. CT
Buford(?), 7, M, b. CT
Philina, 3, F, b. CT
Cordelia Hollant, 19, F, b. CT.
There is NO listing of race on any of them, which would have one assume that this family is white. No relationships are listed, but it appears that Sabra Geer is the mother of Philina, Buford, Hezekiah, Anna, and Maria, and POSSIBLY (but unlikely) Edmon. The only other Geer in Middlesex county was another Edmond Geer, 25 years old, born in Germany (p. 335).
I don't know if this will do you any good. Good luck on your search.
