John Gee may have been one of the Bishop Burton Gees very near Beverly. William Gee from Leicester bought the Bishop Burton estate (right near Beverly and close to Hull) in 1603. I'd have to look up my history of the estate at home but John may have been one of William's sons. I know William had a son named William who inherited the estate but there could have been other sons (I'm pretty sure there was). There's a great web site for info on the Gees of Bishop Burton...all sorts of personal estate papers and a good general history at the University of Hull archives...web address is:
http://www.hull.ac.uk/stiqcgi/query.html
Go there and type Gee in the simply query space and you'll get all sorts of things!
