GEE FAMILY HISTORY
As you can tell I am both green in Genealogy and typing, you don’t know how frustrating and fun at the same time.
I’ve talked to some real nice people and made some friends. If there is a way you can steer me in the right direction
for information on the following. It would be greatly appreciated.
My great grandfather Albert Owen GEE was born October 20, 1852 in England (British Isles). He came to
Montreal between his birth and the time of his first child.
His 1st Wife was Elizabeth (no maiden name).
They had only one child. Mary Louisa GEE born January 6, 1870 and was baptized March 31, 1889 at St Judes
Anglican Church in Montreal. These dates are correct, don’t know why they waited so long to get her baptized.
His 2nd Wife was Sarah Anna NEAL from England was a nurse. She died at age 33 on May 16, 1889 and
was buried May 18, 1889 in St Judes Anglican Church Cemetery in Montreal.
They had nine children.
1st Child: Albert Edward GEE born November 16, 1875 married Mary Ellen MONTEITH on December
19, 1895 at St Stephens Anglican Church in Montreal. Daughter of Robert & Margaret MONTEITH. They had
seven children. Syril, Llyod, Robert Daney, Eril Gordon, Edgar, Marguerite A, and Albert Edward Jr. (Marguerite
and Albert came to New York and lived with their Uncle Thomas Owen and Caroline his wife)
2nd Child: Francis (Fannie) Elizabeth Gee born February 10, 1877 and married James Edward SHEA in
Albany, NY. They had two children. Mildred AND Eleana.
3rd Child: Annie Catherine (Caroline) GEE born June 21, 1879, died July 14, 1898 in Watertown, NY and
buried in St Judes Anglican Church in Montreal.
4th Child: Thomas Owen GEE (my grandfather) born September 9, 1880. Came to USA, New York in
1895 and married Caroline (Lena) SALCHOW on November 18, 1903 in Albany, NY. Thomas and Caroline are
both buried at Nassau Schodack Cemetery Nassau, Rensselaer County New York. They had six children. Dorothy
Frances, Mae Ottelia, Florence Alberta, William Owen, Carlton Thomas and Marion Beatrice.
5th Child: Martha Mary (May) GEE baptized November 5, 1882, died October 10, 1883.
6th Child: Walter Clarence GEE born July 7, 1884, died December 29, 1950. Wife’s name Mary.
7th Child: John Adams (Thomas) GEE born April 9, 1886.
8th Child: Alfred Owen (John) GEE born 1887 and died July 7, 1963. Married Louise and they had three
children. Winnie, Grace and Robert. I believe this family stayed in Canada. He also, served in the Boar War for
Canada.
9th Child: William Alexander GEE born January 1, 1888 and died March 29, 1888. Buried June 13, 1888
at St Judes Cemetery in Montreal.
His 3rd Wife was Arella (Rilla) AMBROSE they were married on June 21, 1892 at Christ Anglican Church
in Montreal. Hey had no children
All of Albert Owen GEE’S 10 children with 2 wife’s were born in Montreal and all were baptized at St
Judes Anglican Church Montreal.

02. Frances Elizabeth baptized December 23, 1877 mother Sarah Anna NEAL
03. Annie Catherine baptized January 25, 1880 mother Sarah Anna NEAL

05. Martha Mary baptized November 5, 1882 mother Sarah Anna NEAL
06. Walter Clarence baptized August 24, 1884 mother Sarah Anna NEAL
07. John Adams baptized July 11, 1886 mother Sarah Anna NEAL
08. Alfred Owen baptized ??? mother Sarah Anna NEAL
09. William Alexander baptized March 18, 1888 mother Sarah Anna NEAL
10. Mary Louisa baptized March 31, 1889 mother Elizabeth (no maiden name).
