My gggrandfather was George Washington McMinn who married Phoebe Gee. I have Phoebe being born in Hobart in 1820. She was the daughter of John Gee and Phoebe McLackey who were both transported as convicts to Hobart Town. They were both born in Ireland. Phoebe was transported for passing forged notes. You can find more details of her in a book called 'Notorious strumpets and dangerous girls:convict women in Van Dieman's Land 1803 - 1829'. Her entry is under the name Phoebe McClusky. George was also from Ireland. He was born in 1805 in Donaghadee, County Down, Northern Ireland. I would be interested in where you fit into the family.
