Re the part of the message about the reason for the name, sorry but the family did come from the highland region but not up in the mountains. The location is in the valleys near the rivers and the armorial bearings related to the name show three pikes (fishes). My guess is that somewhere in the past the family caught these fish rather than behaved like them!
Can feel a strong bond with the bit about carrying off women though ;-)
