William Smith died 20 Nov 1850, Will Book C., page 150 Rappahannock Co VA, appraised 9 Dec 1850. He named his children in will, but not wife, so she(Eliza Jenkins, daughter of Richard and Rebecca Sisk Jenkins), must have been deceased.
Joseph Gearing born about 1790 married Patsy Smith in Oct 1823 (Culpeper Co Marriages). Joseph was mentioned on a tax list but I have found no other information about him (tradition is that he came from Augusta Co VA). He and Patsy had these three children: Geo. F. Gearing 1824-1878 (see below); William R. Gearing born about 1828 (one report says Fauquier but I have not found the document) married Caroline Finchham 10 Mar 1851; Elizabeth Gearing born about 1825 married 9 Oct 1843 Rappahannock Co. to Walker Sisk. One source says she died 28 Aug 1861 but 1860 census shows Walker with wife Mary, two kids by Eliz (William 16 and Mary 12) with two little ones, Benjamin 3 and Sarah 4/12.
One cousin found information that Elizabeth Gearing Sisk was living in a Staunton sanitorium in 1850. During that census Walker was enumerated with two children, William born 1843 and Mary born 1846.
Children of (George) Franklin Gearing born 9 May 1824 married Mary Frances Campbell Lillard (born 12 Dec 1819, died 18 Jul 1882) on 26 Dec 1844 died 21 Aug 1873/8 Front Royal VA were: Burket J born about 1846 possibly died young; William Robert born about 1848 married Susan Heaton, had at least one dau, died Front Royal; Lusetta Summerville born 19 Apr 1849 died 18 Jun 1928 Winchester VA married George Conard Pulliam (Pullen), my greatgrands; George Franklin born Feb 1852 died 17 Jun 1916 Woodstock married Elizabeth Hisey(no children); James Curtis or Leroy born 23 Feb 1857 married Emma Catherine Shiner died Winchester 29 Aug 1923 three children; Marcellus "Moss" born 9 Jul 1864 died 14 Oct 1928, married Mollie Santmeirs 13 May 1887 died Shenandoah Co.
