I wish you the best of luck.I have learned through the surname books of my library that most last names lead back to the same emmigrants somehow.
Chances are good especially with a name like Geargart that if you could locate my friend,she could link you with raltaives that could help you.
I learned that my g,g grandfather is responsible for bringing the last name Wade here so everyone is linked if you study far enough back.
