Hi Jim!
Thank you so much for looking at that for me. This just keeps getting weirder. I discovered, after I posted my original message, that Leona (2nd daughter) is called Leona Reynolds on her marriage certificate. It's also listed this way, in my grandfather's handwriting, in his Bible. He is passed on but his sister is still living and appears to know nothing about this. Either that, or she's just not talking.
Also, I overlooked the fact that I can't read the name of the last child (daughter) on the census. (I was so freaked out over the relationship deal with Elias). There is another daughter named Mary who was born before this daughter. Unless the date on the census is recorded wrong. I tried to decipher the name on the census as 'Mary', but it just doesn't work. I'm not sure what letter with which it begins, but I'm quite sure it isn't an 'M'.
I know that Leona's middle initial is 'I', but it looks like maybe an 'H' on the census. Then again, so do the 'Fs' for female in the 'Sex' column. I've got to get the hang of this!
If you could offer any more deciphering for me, I would be grateful.
Thank you again for letting me know that reads 'boarder'. I don't know whether to laugh or cry about that one!
Sarah
