I do not think that the CD version and the Internet Version of the WFT file take any different path. Yes, you might think that the WFT file should be made available immediately, but it is NOT. The Online version of the file is available when the CD is made available. There is some data base work that is done on a WFT file, like privatizing the file, putting date ranges into fields that are blank.
Yes, there may be duplicate trees in the WFT files. Again, from what I have seen, Genealogy.com doesn't handle a WFT file any differently in a CD version and the Online Version.
Have you ever read the fine print?
I am sure that it could be handled differently, but from what I have seen, its handled as I have tried to explain.
