Starting Sept. 30, 2014, Genealogy.com will be making a big change. GenForum message boards, Family Tree Maker homepages, and the most popular articles will be preserved in a read-only format, while several other features will no longer be available, including member subscriptions and the Shop.

Dear Donley,

Unfortunately, submission uploads from older versions of Family Tree Maker (specifically, 2005, 2006 and 16) are a function that is experiencing technical issues and is disabled. You would still be able to create a user home page on our site, but you would not be able to upload any information from Family Tree Maker. We apologize for any difficulties this may present.

Alternatively, you can upload your family tree as a tree on Ancestry.com. .FTW files from those versions of Family Tree Maker can be uploaded directly to the site using the instructions at the following link. You would then be able to invite friends and family members to view your tree - a link with instructions on how to do so is provided below as well.

If there is anything else with which we might assist you, please let us know.
